There
are many attractions within easy reach of La Vignère. Historical
places, lakes (for fishing, watersports or simply relaxing on
a sandy beach), modern attractions (e.g. Futuroscope, La Vallee
des Signes (Monkey Sanctuary), hills and woodlands to explore
and, of course, the french way of life with numerous restaurants
and cafe bars.
We
give a taster below of some of the attractions which may appeal.

Poitiers'
history goes back over 2000 years and features some spectacular
buildings housed around narrow streets which date back to medieval
times. As you wander along the lanes you aretruly stepping back
in history but, at the same time, are unable to feel the relaxed
pace of life in this area of France.
It
would be hard to visit Poitiers and not take time out to sit at
one of the many street cafe's for a meal and watch the world go
by.

The
valley of monkeys is located to the south west of Poitiers and offers
an enjoyable day out where you can stroll around the grounds and
interact with nature.
One of our visitors commented:
'The Valley de la Singe is the most amazing monkey sanctuary
I have ever visited. No cages just beautiful and clever landscaping,
quite magical. I sat for 45mins mesmerized by the monkeys sitting
and picking for grubs only a foot away from me oblivious to my presence,
I almost felt like Jane!'
